Why Henkels & McCoy, Inc.
Well Established Firm
When you put your trust in Henkels
& McCoy, you are enlisting the expertise of an organization that has been exceeding
the expectations of customers since 1923. In an era of mergers and acquisitions,
we offer the peace of mind, confidence, and reliability that come with experience
and a commitment to our own future.
Significant Resources
With approximately 7,000 pieces of modern equipment, our ability
to provide total solutions is unsurpassed. Henkels & McCoy employees perform
most of our work, assuring customers that the highest standards are uniformly
applied.
Notable among our stock are the Rock Drill, which has revolutionized
modern pole line excavation; the multi-dimensional Rock Saw; and our patented
Railroad Mounted Cable Plow, which has transformed right-of-way cable installation.
Our resources are strategically deployed at over 80 fully functional
division, area, and project offices throughout the country. This strategy
assures quick, cost-efficient mobilization. While your priorities may
change over the life of a project, we retain our capacity to deliver on time
and on budget. Our financial strength allows us to manage even the largest
of projects.
Emergency Response
Our ability to respond
to great challenges has received widespread recognition. Whether executing
the air transport of staff and vehicles to Hawaii following Hurricane Iniki
or helping to restore services to Florida and Louisiana in the aftermath of
Hurricane Andrew, we take the necessary action. One of our most meaningful
honors was acknowledgement by the State of Maine with a Joint Convention Resolution
"Recognizing the Extraordinary Efforts to Alleviate Damage and Suffering Caused
by the Severe Ice Storm of January 1998."
Safety
The culture of safety that exists
at Henkels & McCoy is based on training, inspection and discipline. We
track safety down to the job level on a per-project and per-superintendent basis
from Project Safety Pre-Plan to Post-Job Safety Review. A Corporate Safety
Department upholds our safety standards. In addition, we deploy safety
managers and inspectors at each division location.
Our CIRCLE 4 SAFETY registered service mark was
copyrighted in 1989. It serves as a daily reminder to our employees that
safety consciousness begins with them and extends to the task, the job site,
and beyond. Our commitment to a drug-free workplace is unequivocal.
Our safety initiatives have received
awards from the Pipe Line Contractors Association, National Utility Contractors
Association, Mechanical Contractors Association of America, Texas Safety Association,
and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. With safety ratings consistently
better than industry standards, we offer customers an environment conducive
to high morale, maximum productivity, and reduced risk.
Performance/Customer
Service
We believe that quality performance
is a result of systematic planning, execution, coordination, and verification.
This conviction inspired the creation of our Quality Assurance initiatives.
These efforts substantiate our pledge to perform all of our work in a safe manner
and to meet or
exceed the quality expectations
of our customers.
The
presence of a Corporate Performance Department further evidences our investment
in excellence. Unique in our lines of business, this unit oversees the
productivity, quality, and customer
relations aspects of all Henkels & McCoy projects.
We realize our goals through customer surveys, performance appraisals, and the
development of metrics designed to stimulate Peak Performance.
Our systematic, measurable approach to quality means that every customer should
expect nothing less than best-in-class service from every employee on every
project.
Innovation
Our image as innovators and problem
solvers is well established. We have always responded when unique situations
have demanded creativity. As a result, we have been awarded numerous patents
for our efforts. One of the best examples is our Railroad Mounted Cable
Plow. First
patented in 1970, this device has revolutionized long-distance
cable laying, turning feet per day into miles per day. We have continued
to evolve this tool with the recent commissioning of two next-generation plows.
We know that yesterday's solutions often represent today's
dilemmas. Therefore, we view every project
as a fresh opportunity for continuous improvement. This results in maximum
cost effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity for our customers.
